Technical Manual

 

1. Technical manual / Technical order

1) Technical manual

 

It provides all the information and guideline for the technical manual user or maintenance personnel in the use and maintenance of the equipment.
The TM includes the specific description, drawing, reference information of required support and test equipment, repair parts and special tools for the operation and maintenance procedure.

 

2) Technical order

 

It means the instruction document to provide the related issues that are the guide, instruction, or safety procedure like the operation, maintenance, facility, installation, uninstallation, inspection and modification of the equipment or goods owned by the Air Force

 

2. Manual classification

1) Maintenance manual

 

(1) Basic type: Use manual (10), O-level manual (20), direct support maintenance manual (30), general support maintenance manual (40)
(2) Integrated type: User and O-level manual (12), User, O-level and direct support maintenance manual (13), user, O-level, direct and general support maintenance manual (14), O-level and direct support maintenance manual (23), direct and general support maintenance manual (34)

 

2) Repair parts and special tool list manual

 

(1) Basic type: 20P, 30P, 40P
(2) Integrated type: 12P, 13P, 14P, 23P, 24P, 34P

 

3) Maintenance and repair parts / special tool list manual

 

(1) Basic type: 20 and P, 30 and P, 40 and P
(2) Integrated type: 12 and P, 13 and P, 14 and P, 23 and P, 24 and P, 34 and P

3. Technical order classification

1) The technical order is classified into 5 types as below (TO 00-5-18)

 

- Index type technical order : Provide the status and index for the technical order
- Methods and Procedures Technical Order (MPTO) : Technical order system, maintenance management / administration / inspection on the aircraft equipment, methods related to the use, adjustment and form management of the repairable asset, procedure and policy
- Operation and Maintenance Technical Order (O&M TO) : Equipment installation, operation, maintenance and handling
- Abbreviated Technical Order : This order is published with the pocket size for portability of the user (Ex: WC, CL)
- Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) : Technical order issued by the equipment manufacturer in the USAF or ROKAF to maintain the safety of parts and supporting equipment for the aircraft and engine, upgrade test and inspection for certain items to upgrade the performance and enhance the quality
